Hey,
we're nearly at the end of the year which is the prime time for all sorts of wrap ups and this year I was called to share my favourite reads with you!
Before I do that I wish to share a few other thoughts though!
Over the past few years I've gone back into reading, big time! I used to love reading as a kid, borrowing multiple books from the library and then reading, for sometimes hours on end it felt like...
And now, reading has returned to be one of my staple routines. In 2020 I read over 50 books - and while that might sound like a big ask, I can assure it's actually not that challenging as it might seem like...
I read nearly every day, between 15 to 30 minutes (sometimes during the weekend I might read for longer). I enjoy reading in the morning as it allows me to jot down notes in my journal as I go (that's why my reading some times takes longer as I keep going back on the pages, looking for that one thing that sounded so good...) and sometimes I also read in the evening as I wind down from my daily stuff.
One thing I'd like to say here is that reading is a choice: it's a choice how you wish to spend your time. I personally don't watch TV so the time I 'save' from this activity gives me time elsewhere... I actually go into more detail about TV and programming, someone else grabbing your consciousness, in my latest podcast episode 94 of Good Vibes Only - it's been released this week so do tune in for more insights into why I love reading.
Oh and by the way, in that episode I also share one of my fav books from the year - The 4 Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz, so it's definitely worth a listen! You can find Good Vibes Only from Spotify, Apple and Soundcloud. Happy listening!
And now, let's dive into my reading 'list' - I've categorised them pretty freely to make it slightly easier on the eye.
Have fun...and please share your favourite reads in the comments!
xo Anna
